Community oncologists have a task ahead of them. They’ve got to keep in touch with all the new changes in oncology that are taking place literally.

I mean, every day there’s something new out there, right? This is not the way it was when I was doing my fellowship, when a new drug came out every six years. It’s not like that anymore. So they need resources that they can turn to that will provide the information they need in a succinct and practical to use manner without wasting a lot of time.

Community oncologists, by the nature of their jobs, of what they do, they’re very busy. You know, they have to accommodate all the patients in their busy schedule that they have to see. You don’t turn anyone away. And then you’re busy with other things too administrative work paperwork etc so the last thing you can do is pull out a journal and read 50 pages of it and hope to glean something from it, you know?

You want a place you can go to when you have a specific question a specific need and having something like In Practice which is a resource that will provide not only the newest and the latest information but the most practical information you can really use in your clinic for your patient the next time you see them.

And that’s where I think this kind of a resource will be extremely useful.
